Representative imageCHANDIGARH: With 689 fresh cases of Covid-19, the number of people who had tested positive for the virus in Haryana till Monday reached 21,929. For the first time, Ambala district got cases in three figures, 105. Faridabad and Gurgaon, however, continued to report the highest cases — 130 and 106.
Also, 654 patients recovered from the virus, taking the number of people who have overcome Covid-19 in the state so far to 16,637. As seven more people succumbed to the virus in the state, the death toll due to Covid-19 rose to 308.
Also, 4,984 patients are still under treatment.
The doubling rate of Covid-19 cases in the state is now 21 days. As many as 70 patients in the state are on oxygen support and 11 are on ventilators. New cases in other districts were: Sonipat (60), Rohtak (63), Bhiwani (24), Rewari (15), Karnal (10), Ambala (105), Jhajjar (18), Palwal (26), Mahindergarh (46), Hisar (24), Panipat (13), Nuh (8), Kurukshetra (9), Sirsa (7), Panchkula (8), Yamunanagar (2), Kaithal (6) and Charkhi Dadri (9).
Gurgaon has so far reported 6,966 cases, while Faridabad is at number two with 5,550. Sonipat has gotten 2,049 cases. Rohtak, too, is expected to get more than 1,000 cases as its total has reached 988.
Till Monday, a total of 3,81,420 persons in the state had been tested for Covid-19. Of the 22 districts in Haryana, 10 have reported more than 500 cases so far — Bhiwani (669), Rewari (614), Karnal (529), Ambala (612), Jhajjar (504) and Palwal (506).
