Jha's suspension came on a day the party removed Sachin Pilot from the post of Rajasthan deputy chief minister and Congress state unit president after he rebelled against the Ashok Gehlot-led government along with some of his loyalist MLAs and cabinet ministers.
Jha has been quite vocal in media publications and on TV channels as well as his social media on the ongoing tussles between Pilot and Gehlot, while backing the former.
He has also been criticising the functioning of the party. In a recent interview to Outlook, Jha said the grand old party should find a new president through democratic elections, and preferably not from the Gandhi family.
