US Has Biggest Covid-19 Testing Programme in World: Trump |  The US has the world's biggest COVID-19 testing programme which is better than countries like India, China, Russia and Brazil, President Donald Trump has said, asserting that America has one of the lowest mortality rates anywhere.

India's Recovery Rate Improves | The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients has increased to 63.02%, while the recoveries deaths ratio is 96.01%:3.99%, stated the Government of India.

India Records 28,498 New Cases, Tally Crosses 9 Lakh-mark | India's COVID-19 case tally crosses 9 lakh mark with 28,498 new cases and 553 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. Total positive cases stand at 9,06,752 including 3,11,565 active cases, 5,71,460 cured/discharged/migrated and 23,727 deaths: Ministry of Health.

Tokyo Health Officials Urges 800 Theatregoers To Undergo Test After Source Detected |  Tokyo health officials appealed for more than 800 theatregoers to get tested for the novel coronavirus after a production starring Japanese boy-band members was found to be the source of at least 20 cases.

As the number of virus infections continues to rise in Japan’s capital city, the Tokyo government said it was focussing on a 190-seat theatre in the Shinjuku entertainment district, where infections have also been traced to cabaret clubs.

Private Hospitals Asked to Reserve 20% Beds for COVID-19 Patients | The Goa government has made it compulsory for all private hospitals in the state to reserve 20 per cent of their total beds for COVID-19 patients. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to review the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the coastal state.

Ahead of the complete city-wide lockdown in starting from 8pm on Tuesday evening, hundreds of people rushed back to their hometowns.

Shops closed and streets deserted as complete lockdown is being observed in Kalaburagi. District Administration has ordered lockdown in Kalaburagi from 14th to 20th July, to control the spread of coronavirus. 

Australia Records More Than 10,000 Cases | The Australian state of Victoria has recorded 270 new cases of coronavirus, which brings the national total to about 10,250. The state of New South Wales has recorded 13 new cases of coronavirus to 8pm last night. 

Mexico Reported Over 4,500 Cases | Mexico’s Health Ministry reported 4,685 new confirmed coronavirus infections and 485 additional fatalities, bringing the country’s totals to 304,435 cases and 35,491 deaths. The government has said the real number of infected people is likely significantly higher than the confirmed cases.

Mainland China Reports Five New Cases | China reported five new coronavirus cases in the mainland for 13 July, compared with eight cases a day earlier, the health authority said. All of the new infections were imported cases, the National Health Commission said in a statement. There were no new deaths.

UK Experts Fear Up To 120,000 Covid-19 Deaths This Winter | Britain must start “intense preparations” for the second wave of coronavirus that has the potential to kill as many as 120,000 hospital patients in a worst-case scenario, experts have warned.

Senior doctors and scientists convened by the Academy of Medical Sciences said that, without urgent action, a resurgence of cases this winter could overwhelm the NHS when services are already stretched because of flu and other seasonal pressures.

Global Cases Pass 13 Million | There are more than 13 million coronavirus cases worldwide, an increase of 1m cases in 5 days, Johns Hopkins University data show. The current total is 13,026,225. There have been 570,924 known deaths so far.

No Community Transmission in India, Says Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan | "There is no permanent definition of the word community transmission, but given the current situation there is no community transmission in India, there was some localised transmission in places like Dharavi but it was effectively contained," said Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan.
