THANE: A Thane court on Monday ordered transit custody of two aides of UP’s slain gangster Vikas Dubey who were arrested in Thane. The magistrate ordered custody of Arvind alias Guddan Trivedi (45) and his driver Sushilkumar alias Sonu Tiwari (30) to the UP police till July 16. They will first undergo a corona test and then be taken to UP, it was stated.
The UP police told the court that Guddan was wanted in the killing of eight cops in UP this month.
Defence counsel Anil Jadhav told the court that the duo had no role in the crime. It was said that if the UP police were taking them to UP, they should be taken by air as they fear for their lives in the light of recent incidents, they said. It was not clear if they would travel by air or road. The court told UP police to take all Covid measures.
