Tuner Dials Up Ferrari Roma To 690 HP, Throws In Custom Wheels Too

Ferrari’s latest model, the Roma, has been given a subtle nip-and-tuck and a healthy performance boost by Germany’s Wheelsandmore.

The company’s designers brief was to upgrade the Roma without changing the design of the elegant coupe too much. The safest way to achieve that was to fit custom wheels, which are available in 21 or 22 inches, in three different designs that Wheelsandmore claims are perfectly suitable for the 2+2 coupe. Customers can choose to paint each of the three wheel models in their desired color and with the surface finish of their liking.

The custom wheels will soon be accompanied by a lowering kit for the suspension, which is currently under development. Wheelsandmore will also offer a flap-controlled exhaust system and throughput-optimized sports catalytic converters.

The icing on the cake is hidden under the sculpted hood and consists of a performance upgrade for the Roma’s 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. An easily installable box increases power to 700 PS (690 HP), while peak torque is boosted to 885 Nm (653 lb-ft). These are generous gains of 80 PS (79 HP) and 125 Nm (92 lb-ft), respectively.

Wheelsandmore does not say how the upgraded power and torque influence the Roma’s performance, but it’s safe to say the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration should be improved by at least one or two tenths of a second. In stock form, the sleek Italian coupe sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds and does 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 9.3 seconds. The changes should be enough to push the top speed beyond the standard model’s 320 km/h (199 mph).
