Rhea Chakraborty on Sushant Singh Rajput: “I will never come to terms with you not being here anymore”

One month post Sushant Rajput Kapoor's death, actor Rhea Chakraborty broke her silence with an open letter for the late Bollywood star

On July 14, 2020, thirty days after the untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty has taken to Instagram to share an emotional note for the late star. The past month has been a tough time for Rajput's friends, family members and countless fans across the globe, and post his death, several noteworthy names including actors Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Sanjana Sanghi, along with director Mukesh Chhabra, have shared messages for the actor on social media. While his family has decided to set up the Sushant Singh Rajput Foundation in his memory and will be turning his childhood home into a memorial, his team has launched a website called Selfmusing.com, which shares a compilation of the thoughts and ideas Rajput penned during his lifetime.

According to reports, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty were in a relationship until his death, and after a month of silence, Chakraborty opened up about how she's been coping since with her emotional note. Sharing two images of the couple together, Chakraborty revealed that she is “still struggling to face my emotions..an irreparable numbness in my heart. You are the one who made me believe in love, the power of it.” 

Sushant Singh Rajput was known for his varied interests in subjects like physics, mathematics and astrophysics, and Chakraborty's note touched upon all the unique lessons their relationship taught her. “You taught me how a simple mathematical equation can decipher the meaning of life and I promise you that I learnt from you every day. I will never come to terms with you not being here anymore.” Rhea Chakraborty's open letter continued on to say, “I know you’re in a much more peaceful place now. The moon, the stars, the galaxies would’ve welcomed ‘the greatest physicist’ with open arms.” 

Shedding light on the Sushant Singh Rajput she knew and loved, Rhea Chakraborty also wrote, “Full of empathy and joy, you could lighten up a shooting star-now, you are one . I will wait for you my shooting star and make a wish to bring you back to me. You were everything a beautiful person could be, the greatest wonder that the world has seen. My words are incapable of expressing the love we have and I guess you truly meant it when you said it is beyond both of us. You loved everything with an open heart, and now you’ve shown me that our love is indeed exponential.” The actor ended her message with a heartfelt goodbye: “Be in peace Sushi. 30 days of losing you but a lifetime of loving you....Eternally connected. To infinity and beyond.” 

The last time Rajput featured on Chakraborty's Instagram page was on his last birthday, January 21, 2020. According to reports, Rhea Chakraborty also recently  changed her WhatsApp display picture to one of herself with the actor. 

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14, 2020 at the age of 34. The Bollywood star essayed multiple noteworthy roles in movies including Kai Po Che (2013), MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) and Kedarnath (2018). Rajput's last film, Dil Bechara is all set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on July 24, 2020.
