NEW DELHI: Central Board of Secondary Education on Monday launched its post-result counselling facility with the help of 95 volunteer principals and trained counsellors. The service will be available for Indian students on a toll-free number (1800-11-8004) on all days from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm till July 27. "The post-result counselling is provided to help students and parents address common psychological issues and general queries related to exam results," CBSE said on Monday. The board explained that dialling the centralised toll-free number would give students the option of availing recorded useful tips to deal with exam results and get other information on tackling stress, important contact details, Covid-19 precautions and so on. Students/parents can also connect with tele-operators who will help them interact with principals, counsellors and special educators.
While there are 73 counsellors and educators for Indian students, 22 others will help CBSE students residing in countries, such as Nepal, Sultanate of Oman, UAE, Singapore, Kuwait, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the USA and other countries. Meanwhile, the board has announced that it will come out with the datesheet for optional exams after consultations with the government of India. These exams were earlier scheduled from July 1 to July 15, but could not be held due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
