A comprehensive 2-phase lockdown has started in Pune, Maharashtra from Monday and will continue till July 23. These lockdowns are being done to break the chain of coronovirus infection.

The first phase will continue from 14 July to 18 July and the second phase from 19 to 23 July. An order signed by the new Pune Municipal Commissioner, Vikram Kumar, has withdrawn several exemptions previously granted in the city and further new restrictions have been imposed in the city.


Here, things are important to keep in mind.

* In the first phase of lockout from 14 July to 18 July, grocery stores, retail and wholesale stores will remain closed for the first five days.

* In phase two, wholesalers selling only shops and essential commodities will be allowed to be open between 8 am and 12 am on July 19-23.

* Online food delivery portals will not be allowed to work until July 23.

* Wholesale and retail grocery, vegetable and fruit markets and loading areas will be completely closed from July 14-18; And from July 19-23 between 8 am to 12 am will be operational.

* Shops selling eggs and meats including mutton, chicken and fish will remain closed till July 18 and will then be allowed from July 19-23 from 8 am to 12 noon.

* E-commerce delivery will be allowed only from 19 July.

* Government offices can function with 10% employees and IT companies are allowed to work with 15% employees.

* Banks will work with minimum manpower.

* Petrol pumps will be operational daily from 9 am to 2 pm for essential services only.

* Printing and delivery of newspaper has been allowed from 6 to 9 am.

* Intercity and inter-district supply chains for industries will remain unaffected. MIDC employees must obtain a pass to travel.

It will be closed till 23 July

* All private offices will remain closed

* Public and private playgrounds and gardens will be completely closed and morning walks and evening walks will also not be allowed.

* No political, religious, entertainment or sports activities will be allowed and places of worship will remain closed.

* Lodges (except those used for the Vande Bharat Mission), hotels, restaurants and bars, resorts, malls and markets will not be allowed to operate.

* All beauty parlors, salons and spas will remain closed for this period.

* Schools, colleges, educational institutions and tuition will remain closed.

* Private two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles will not be allowed to travel to railway stations or airports or for medical emergencies, except for essential services, without prior permission.

* Public transport and private bus services, trucks, tractors and all freight vehicles will not be allowed except those providing essential services including PMC, police and medical services.

* Only construction work will be allowed for people with in-situ labor.

* All theaters, gyms, swimming pools, recreational facilities and marriage halls will remain closed.

* Wedding halls booked prior to the order may be permitted to operate with an attendance of only 20 people.

* Nurses and helpers can work for senior citizens and the needy.
