Kia Sonet August-debut confirmed, to rival Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

NEW DELHI: Kia Motors will premiere the Sonet compact SUV globally in August followed by an expected India launch in September. The concept model of Sonet first broke covers at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The compact SUV is expected to go head with the likes Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
It will feature Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille, LED headlights and sculpted bonnet that gives it aggressive looks. At the back, the new Sonet is expected to sport LED tail lamps connected by LED light bar.

While, on the inside, the Kia Sonet will be fully-loaded with class-leading features and a 10.25 inch-touchscreen that will be borrowed from the Kia Seltos. Expect the Sonet to host UVO Connect connected car tech, a sunroof, and a premium sound system from Bose.

Kia Sonet is expected to be powered by the same spec engines that power Hyundai Venue. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.2-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel will be on offer. In addition to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the new Sonet will is expected to feature Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). The Kia Sonet diesel is also set to come with the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The price range of the upcoming Kia Sonet is expected between Rs 7-Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
