The police of Barsathi police station in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh uncovered a case of the murder of the married woman, while the mother-in-law of the deceased involved in the incident has escaped.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Tribhuvan Singh said on Monday that Preeti (26), wife of Vinod Patel, resident of Rasoolha village in the area, was beheaded and killed on 14 June. The deceased's husband was in Mumbai at the time of the incident and the mother-in-law was at home.

He told that during the investigation of the case it was revealed that even after eight years of the marriage of the deceased, he had no children, hence the mother-in-law used to taunt him. Based on suspicion, the police interrogated the custody of the neighboring youth Ravi, who admitted his crime and exposed the incident. Mr. Singh said that the mother-in-law involved in the incident is being searched.
