A BBC news presenter upset viewers when she said she hoped 'they don't do more Welsh' ahead of First Minister Mark Drakeford's statement today.
Carrie Gracie made the comment as Mr Drakeford was about to give his statement on the latest easing of lockdown measures in Wales.
The comment hit a bum note with viewers in Wales, who took to social media to complain about the line.
Sam Smith-Higgins posted on Twitter: "BBCNews presenter just said 'I hope they are not going to do more Welsh' as First Minister is giving his briefing. WTF?"
He added: "It was Carrie Gracie. I really like her too. Guess we all cock up sometimes."
Others soon weighed in, with YesCymruLlundain arguing: "BBC Wales needs a shake up. Devolve broadcasting. Routine digs at the Welsh language. It's embarrassing."
Another, Huw Jones, added: "I'm a Welsh speaker. It's our language we speak, Carrie Gracie. This would not happen in the Republic of Ireland."
The BBC is yet to respond to the criticisms it received on social media.
During the briefing, First Minister Mr Drakeford announced that face masks would now be compulsory on public transport.
