Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have a Sunday lockdown. States like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Bihar have declared sector-wise lockdowns at different periods. The Karnataka government has announced a complete lockdown in Bengaluru for seven days starting July 14. The Tamil Nadu government has extended restrictions in Madurai and surrounding areas till 14 July. The Maharashtra government had already announced extensive lockdowns in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad from July 13 to 23. A similar bandh was also announced by the state government in areas around Mumbai.
Everything will be closed on Saturday and Sunday in UP
The Yogi Adityanath government of UP has now discovered a new formula to control the spread of corona infection. After 55 hours of lockdown in the state from Friday night, it has now been decided to lockdown two days every week. Under the mini lockdown, only five days of offices and markets will be opened in the state. That is, until the transition period of Corona, the state will work under Five Day Week.
Because of the ever-increasing cases of corona infection, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big decision that now all markets will be open from 9 am to 9 pm, Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be held weekly. During this time it is permitted to open shops selling only other essential items like milk, fruits, and vegetables. Large-scale cleaning and sanitization will be done in these two days. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued instructions in this regard on Sunday.
11 districts of Bihar again lockdown
In Bihar too, the lockdown has been imposed in 11 districts again due to increasing cases of the corona. Here many districts have imposed lockdowns for varying lengths of time. Lockdown is in force in Kaimur, Buxar, Nawada, Khagaria, Supaul, West Champaran, East Champaran, Madhepura, Munger, Kishanganj, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Begusarai and Madhepura along with Patna. From 10 to 16 July in Patna, Begusarai from 11 to 16 July, Nalanda from 11 to 15 July, Munger from 10 to 16 July, Madhepura from 10 to 16 July, Khagaria from 10 to 14 July, Muzaffarpur in two weeks Day off, lockdown will continue from 10 to 12 July in Buxar and 10 to 12 July in Nawada.
One week lockdown from 9 June in West Bengal
The lockdown is in force for one week from 5 pm on Thursday in West Bengal. Containment zones are in 20 of the 23 districts of the state. Restrictions on private and public vehicles are in force, while all other essential same-selling shops are closed. Barricades have been installed to prevent movement of people into the containment zone. In some areas, shops with essential items have been allowed to open for only four hours. There are 25 Containment Zones in Kolkata, 93 in North 24 Parganas, 54 in South 24 Parganas, and 56 in Howrah. These are the top four hotspot districts.
Announcement of one-week lockdown in Karnataka from 14 July
The Karnataka government on Saturday announced the imposition of a complete lockdown in Bengaluru city and rural areas for a week from July 14, amid rising cases of corona in the state. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said in a statement that this step has been taken based on the advice of experts, as the daily corona cases in the state are increasing rapidly.
