Representative imageAMBALA: Twelve new Covid-19 cases on Sunday mounted the count to 507 in Ambala on Sunday. Civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh said seven patients were contacts of old cases from Cloth Market, Ambala City. Three cases, including a pregnant woman, were from Ambala Cantt. The other two patients were a man with a travel history to Shimla and an Armyman from Dhiya Majra village, who had returned from Leh. At the same time, 21 patients were discharged, taking the recovery count to 398.
The civil surgeon said 10 teams were deputed in four locations and a mobile team covered nine locations in Cloth Market. The teams collected 1,326 samples in a single day, said Singh, calling it a record of sorts. Sampling has been intensified to check the spread in this high-risk area. "So far, we have collected 21,974 samples in Ambala," he said. The Cloth Market had reported nearly 100 cases in two weeks.
