Three more deaths in Ganjam take Odisha Covid toll to 64

BHUBANESWAR: Three more persons from Odisha's worst-affected district succumbed to Covid-19, raising the death toll due to the virus to 39 in Ganjam and to 64 in the state on Sunday. Two other Covid positive patients died from comorbidities, taking the number of such deaths to 20 in the state.
The deceased were males - a 56-year-old, a 65 year-old and a 50 year-old - of whom the first two were also suffering from diabetes. The other two Covid patients were a 50-year-old male of Khurda district, who died owing to a head injury, and a 57-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who died of acute encephalomyelitis.
The Covid-19 cases continued to rise in Odisha with 595 patients testing positive on Sunday, taking the total count of infected persons to 13,121. Of the new cases, 394 have been detected in quarantine centres while 201 are local contact cases.
