BENGALURU: Karnataka and Bengaluru on Sunday reported their highest-ever
Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours - 71 and 45, respectively.
The state reported 2,627 fresh cases of Covid-19 and its capital 1,525. Bengaluru's Sunday infection tally continued to remain ahead of Chennai (1,168) and Mumbai (1,263). Karnataka has reported 38,843 cases till date, while it is 18,387 for Bengaluru. There are 532 patients in ICUs across the state of whom 314 are in Bengaluru.
The dead in the city included a 16-day-old baby girl brought dead to a hospital on July 1. She is the youngest Covid-19 fatality in the state so far.
