This Is Likely The Last 2021 Ford Bronco Leak Before Today’s Official Debut

With only a few hours remaining until the unveiling of the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco, a new purportedly official photo of the off-roader is making the rounds on the web.

This is likely the last leak until Ford officially lifts the covers off the new Bronco today, July 13 at 8 p.m. EST. The low-quality image shows the short-wheelbase, two-door version of the 2021 Bronco which will go head to head with the Jeep Wrangler.

As with its rival from Jeep, the 2021 Bronco comes with removable roof and doors, as shown by the vehicle featured in the photo posted on the Brongo6G fan forum. The front end looks familiar and is consistent with previous leaked images from the Ford factory. It sports ‘Bronco’ lettering on the grille, which incorporates round headlights in similar fashion to the original Bronco.

The off-roader does not try to hide its rugged character, featuring an upright windscreen, steel front bumper, generous ground clearance, and beadlock wheels shod with all-terrain tires. A previous spy photo also revealed a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

The 2021 Ford Bronco is expected to offer two engines. The entry-level unit will be a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder producing around 270 HP (274 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. An optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with approximately 325 HP (330 PS) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque will also be on offer. A 10-speed automatic transmission will be standard, while a Getrag 7-speed manual is said to be available.

The all-new Bronco features a body-on-frame design courtesy of an updated platform borrowed from the T6 Ranger. This means it should be capable of serious off-roading thanks to a 4WD system with low and high gearing, independent front suspension, solid rear axle with coil springs and struts, electronic terrain management and more.
