Khanna: 10,500 intoxicant tablets, 15kg poppy husk seized; 4 held

LUDHIANA: Khanna police arrested four drug peddlers and seized 10,500 intoxicant tablets and 15kg of poppy husk from their possession in separate incidents.
Khanna SSP Harpreet Singh said that a police team at T-Point Heddon Bet saw a black Maruti Alto car bearing registration number PB-10-DL-5999 and stopped it on suspicion on Sunday. After searching the car, police recovered 10,000 Tramodol tablets from the driver Rajinder Singh of Sherpur Basti in Machiwara Sahib.
Cops said that the accused was booked under sections of NPPS act at Machiwara police station.
In the second incident, a police team recovered 500 Calbidol tablets from Parmjit Ram of Ramgarh Sardaran at a check post. Police later booked the accused under sections of NDPS act.
In the third such recovery, police seized 15kg poppy husk from one Mohammad Ramzan abd Ikram Ali of Malerkotla.
Police said that the accused was booked under sections of NDPS act at Maloud police station.
