Students who are scheduled to appear for Class XII re-exam on July 27 can download their hall tickets from Monday.

CHENNAI: Students who are scheduled to appear for Class XII re-exam on July 27 can download their hall tickets from Monday. The hall tickets will be uploaded on the directorate of government examinations' (DGE) website www.dge.tn.gov.in.
The state government announced that it would conduct re-exam for 34,864 absentees in the final Class XII exam. But it was found only 671 were absent for just one exam and the rest of them were absent for all exams. Students can download hall tickets till July 17.
Man held for snatching gold chain: The JJ Nagar police have arrested a man within hours after he snatched a 1.5-sovereign gold chain from a pedestrian. The incident happened on Saturday night when Geetha, 37, of Tiruverkadu was out for a walk at Golden George Nagar. Acting upon the complaint, JJ Nagar police launched a hunt for the suspect and secured him within hours. He was identified as V Ashok Kumar, 38, of Ayappakkam. The gold chain was retrieved and the accused was remanded in judicial custody.
Free dialysis centre opened: Rotary Club of Chennai Coastal has inaugurated a free dialysis centre with 11 dialysis machines at the urban community health centre situated at Chinna Porur Government Hospital in Valasaravakkam in association with Tanker foundation. The club has donated 11 dialysis machin es at the cost of Rs 65 lakh. Greater Chennai Corporation commissioner G Prakash inaugurated the centre recently.
