TRICHY: Seven vegetable vendors at
Anna Nagar uzhavar sandhai (vegetable market) in
Trichy have tested positive for
Covid-19.
The Trichy Corporation on July 4 conducted random sampling test at the uzhavar sandhai as part of a mass screening. While the vendors were flaying the civic body for not revealing the results of 183 samples even after four days, the results came out on July 10.
Seven vegetable vendors, including five hailing from Anna Nagar, Pattabiraman Street, Bhima Nagar and Palakkarai localities in Trichy Corporation’s jurisdiction, tested positive. The other two Covid-19 positive vendors are from rural Trichy.
The patients have been moved to Trichy MGMGH.
This is second instance of vegetable vendors testing positive for Covid-19 in Trichy. On July 3, three vegetable vendors at the EB road makeshift retail vegetable market tested positive.
