Police have fined an Adelaide nightclub $5,060 for breaching coronavirus restrictions after storming the venue and finding a packed dance floor.
Damning photographs released by police showed huge crowds of people blatantly ignoring social distancing at Zhivago nightclub on Saturday night.
The popular city nightclub said they would contest the fine and had already made a formal complaint to police, insisting.

'We made every endeavour to adhere to social distancing and density rulings,' they said in a statement.
'We filled our usual dance floor area with bar tables and chairs to make it obvious that we were doing our absolute best.
'We are extremely disappointed in the lack of consistency between police, especially during this confusing time.'
The nightclub said the punishment was 'frustrating' given they 'did not create the virus nor aid in the spread of it in this state whatsoever'.
South Australia police checked 111 venues across Adelaide over the weekend during a COVID-19 compliance blitz and found 10 had no COVIDSafe plans in place.

The Tequila Sunrise hostel on Waymouth Street was raided by police at 8pm on Friday night and also copped at $5,060 fine for breaching coronavirus guidelines.
'Upon arrival police identified that the business failed to have a COVID Safe Plan in place and had concerns people were failing to physically distance from each other,' police said.
Investigators found the hostel was hosting four guests who had recently arrived from a COVID-19 hotspot in Victoria and were self-isolating in the accommodation.
'Officers had concerns over their ability to quarantine from other patrons and engaged SA Health who moved the three men and one woman to a Hotel on North Terrace to complete their self-quarantine.'
