Goa ESI Nurses recruitment: 'Complete 2019 recruitment of nurses'

Margao: In the wake of the decision of the government to recruit additional nurses, former chairperson of Margao Municipal Council and Shadow Council for Margao convener Savio Coutinho has demanded that the government come clear on the status of the recruitment process initiated by the commissioner of labour and employment under the ESI scheme in January 2019.
Coutinho, in a press note, pointed out that on January 8, 2019 the government had published a notice for the filling up of 87 posts of different types. Applications were invited from eligible candidates for posts of 63 staff nurses, 15 pharmacists, 6 laboratory technicians, 2 radiologists and 1 stenographer.
“Even the written exams for the posts were held on August 25, 2019. However it is over 10 months now, and the status of this recruitment process still remains in suspense,” Coutinho said.
He demanded that the recruitment process for filling up the 87 posts be completed immediately, and justice be done to the candidates who have gone through the process.
“Sidelining candidates who had already answered the written exams for the post of nurses, and recruiting others is unfair,” he said.
