The veteran actor-dancer opened up about her life in self-isolation in a recent interview, saying, “We don’t know how long it will go on. So I started my riyaz. I practise singing with my mother in the evening. We’re trying to keep ourselves occupied doing something constructive. On the brighter side, you have more time with your family now. Earlier, one often complained about not being able to do so many things. After a long time, I read a book—Born A Crime (by Trevor Noah).”

An oversized light fixture infuses warm yellow light into the room in one corner, while another corner features a tall, leafy potted plant. Underscoring the family’s creative inclinations is a special stand containing multiple guitars, resting adjacent to the beige curtains. Sleek glass side tables and a low geometric centre table add to the modern vibe of the space. The space also serves as the family’s media room, with a massive television set and speakers anchored to one of the walls.
