FALL RIVER — Local businessman and former city councilor Michael Lund was arrested last week and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and interfering with a police officer.

The incident occurred around midnight on Thursday at his new restaurant, Pier 52.

Lund, 47, said he was with his parents and wife after a “soft open” for the restaurant when his father, who he said is ill, lost consciousness and 911 was called.

“He fell over and hurt his head. When the ambulance came I didn’t want to leave him, I wanted to go in the ambulance with him. They wouldn’t let me go in the ambulance,” said Lund on Friday. “I was highly emotional. I thought I lost him.”

His father was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, stabilized and able to return home, Lund said.

When taken to police headquarters, Lund said that he explained what occurred and the police “were great.”

Capt. Daniel Dube said that, according to a police report, at the time of the incident Lund was intoxicated.
