CBSE 12th result 2020 highlights: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the result for class 12 examination today morning. The students can check their result at the official websites — results.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.nic.in. However, many students are complaining that the websites are down and even the Umang app is not functioning.

Meanwhile, CBSE will announce the result of class 10 on July 15. Students can view their score on the websites mentioned above.

A total of 10.59 lakh (10,59,080) students cleared the class 12 exam with a pass percentage of 88.78 per cent. The pass percentage improved from the last year. In 2019, 83.40 per cent students had passed class 12 exams. Gender-wise, girls have outperformed boys with 92.15 per cent, while the pass percentage of boys was 86.19 per cent. The pass percentage of transgender students is 66.67 per cent.

The HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal congratulated students. In his tweet, the minister wrote, “Dear Students, Parents, and Teachers! CBSE has announced the results of Class XII and can be accessed at cbseresults.nic.in. We congratulate you all for making this possible. I reiterate student’s health & quality education are our priority.”

This year, CBSE is declaring the result without holding exams. In the case of students who have appeared for more than three subjects, the ‘average of the best three performing subjects’ will be awarded for subjects for which the exam could not be held. For students who have appeared in exams in only three subjects, the average of marks obtained in ‘best two performing subjects’ will be awarded for papers for which exam was not held.

For the few students who appeared for only 1 or 2 subjects, the result is calculated based on performance in appeared subjects and performance in internal or practical or project-based assessment, as per the board.

CBSE 12th result 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: The board has scrapped the syllabus for classes 9 to 12 by 30 per cent. Among some chapters, the board completely deleted chapters on federalism, citizenship, nationalism, and secularism from the political science curriculum of Class 11 for the academic year 2020-21. For classes 8 and below, schools have the freedom to rationalise the syllabus. This was done to make up for the lost instructional hours by the board.
