Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, daughter Aaradhya infected with Coronavirus? Maharashtra minister deletes tweet

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan have tested positive for COVID19. Jaya Bachchan has tested negative, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope tweeted today. He, however, removed the tweet within minutes of posting it. The claim of Aishwarya testing positive for COVID-19 comes hours after father-in-law and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and husband Abhishek Bachchan reported positive for Covid-19. However, veteran actor and wife of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan’s test report has come negative.

“Smt Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya Abhishek Bachchan have also been tested positive,” Tope wrote on his official Twitter account. “Smt Jaya Bachchan’s report has come negative,” he added. The minister also said that the whole country wanted speedy recovery for the Bachchan family. The minister did not mention whether Aishwarya and her daughter have also been shifted to the hospital where Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are undergoing the treatment.

However, earlier in the day, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar was reported as saying by news agency PTI that actors Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have tested negative for coronavirus. The mayoralso said the Bachchan residence is now a containment zone and all residents have been quarantined for 14 days.

Earlier in the late hours of Saturday, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted about him and his son testing Covid-19 positive from his own Twitter account. Hordes of tweet from common people as well as celebrities from all walks of life poured in wishing speedy recovery for the veteran actor. According to the government statement, both the senior and junior Bachchan are lodged in the city’s Kokilaben hospital are reported to be in a stable condition.

After the reports of the Bachchan family testing positive came, the civic authorities swung into action and sanitised the residence of the family. All the staff members and people who are believed to have come in close vicinity to the actor are also being traced and being tested.
