Covid-19: Worst spike of 42 cases in Haryana's Ambala

AMBALA: The district reported 42 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, the highest singleday surge that pushed the count to 495.
Twenty-five of the cases are linked with the cloth market in Ambala City that has clocked 100 cases in two weeks, said civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh.
“Patients are in the age group of 15 to 65 years. They were found under contact tracing. Most had influenza like illness and one had a travel history to Leh-Ladakh,” he said.
“We have started collecting samples with rapid antigen testing kits which give the results in 15 minutes. On Saturday, 76 samples were collected with rapid kits, out of which, two tested positive,” he said In some good news, 20 patients were discharged, taking the recovery count to 377. There are 112 active cases in the district that has reported six deaths.
