MANGALURU: WhatsCut Pro, an advanced tool to create and share videos, audio files, statuses and stories for multiple social media platforms and chat messengers, which was developed by alumni of a Mangaluru college, has been getting a good response after the TikTok ban.
The app was developed by the alumni of PA Engineering College, which includes Rizwab Sadath T P, Ramees P and Sushin P V, who are all computer science students, with the help of Vikas Shrivastava from S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.
WhatsCut Pro has already been downloaded by more than 1.7 million users. A made in India short video platform, WhatsCut Pro has several features for entertainment, fun and challenges. Advanced video story making, creating an audio story, interactive WhatscutPro wall, integration with multiple social and chat messenger platforms, live video recording with music and interactive frames for audio stories are some of the features of WhatsCut Pro.
Sushin said that the team launched WhatsCut Pro in October 2017, after passing out from the college.
“In fact, the three of us wanted to start a company soon after our studies. Hence, we went to Bengaluru and succeeded in launching the app. Currently, we have almost 1.7 million users, and many people are downloading the app every day. We were in the market even before the government imposed a ban on TikTok. We already had nearly 1.5 million users when TikTok was banned. Later, the number of users increased,” he said.
Vikas Shrivastava, who is the co-founder and CEO of WhatsCut Pro, said, “It is a short video app made by Indians for all Indians. Through WhatsCut Pro, users can create and share amazing audio and video stories. We have video cutter and pro camera options through which you can edit all your video stories and share them on the app. Since the last three years, 9 million stories were processed, which received 100 million story views. We have been fighting it out with the likes of TikTok and Instagram. We are still able to acquire our users because we have a unique user experience and unique tools on our app.”
