Television actor Parth Samthaan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The actor was feeling unwell yesterday and his reports came in today (July 12). The actor plays the role of Anurag Basu in Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay and had resumed shooting for the show last week.

Confirming the news, the actor shared a post on Instagram.

Parth Samthaan's coronavirus diagnosis has led to a halt of shooting of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The show also stars Erica Fernandes, Karan Patel, and Shubvi Choksey among others. All actors and crew members will be tested for the novel coronavirus.

Balaji Entertainment issued a statement that read, "We would like to inform various stakeholders that one of our talent from the show Kasautii Zindagii Kay has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now receiving medical attention. Our first priority is to help protect our talent, production crew and employees. We are taking all the precautions detailed in the guideline. We were and will continue following all medical protocols set by the authorities and have implemented guidelines concerning social interactions. hygiene, travel, and visits to the sets."

The studio Click Nickson has been sealed and shoots of other shows including Pavitra Bhagya, Naagin, Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya have also been stopped.

Last week, a crew member of the show Mere Sai was found coronavirus positive. As a result, the show's shoot had been stalled for three days.

Apart from Mumbai, TV shoots have resumed in cities like Bengaluru, Kolkata and Cochin.
