Amitabh Bachchan Coronavirus Update: ‘My unending gratitude and love’, says Bachchan as people wish him speedy recovery from COVID-19

Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan Coronavirus Health Updates: Currently, the 77-year-old actor is stable and has mild COVID-19 infection symptoms.

Amitabh Bachchan urged everyone who had been in close proximity with him in the last 10 days to get tested for Coronavirus.

Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan Coronavirus Health Updates: Bollywood’s “Big B” Amitabh Bachchan, and his son, Abhishek Bachchan, will remain in the hospital on doctors’ advice, Abhishek tweeted after the father-son duo tested COVID-19 positive on Saturday. They were shifted to a hospital after testing positive for novel Coronavirus on Saturday night.

Confirming this, Abhishek Bachchan tweeted: “My father and I remain in hospital till the doctors decide otherwise.”

He also urged people to be vigilant so as to avoid the deadly virus. “Everyone please remain cautious and safe. Please follow all rules!” he added.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted on Sunday sharing his gratitude for all the wishes he received since his diagnosis.

He further tweeted that it would not be possible for him to acknowledge all prayers and wishes.

On Sunday, Amitabh Bachchan’s family members — daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and grand daughter Aaradhya Bachchan — also tested positive for COVID-19. His wife, Jaya Bachchan, has tested negative for coronavirus.

Currently, Amitabh Bachchan is stable and has mild COVID-19 infection symptoms. The 77-year-old actor is admitted to an isolation unit of the Nanavati hospital in Mumbai, ANI quoted Public Relation Officer, Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital as saying.

Senior Bachchan and his son are “feeling better” as they get treated for coronavirus at Nanavati Hospital, Dr Abdul Samad Ansari, director of Critical Care Services at the hospital. “Both Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek are comfortable and feeling better. General blood chemistries are acceptable with stable vitals. Both slept well and had their breakfasts. They are stable,” Ansari was quoted as saying by PTI.

The Sholay star took to Twitter yesterday and informed everyone that his test results for COVID-19 infection has come out positive and he has been shifted to hospital. He added that hospitals are informing the authorities as well as family members about the status. Amitabh Bachchan urged everyone who had been in close proximity with him in the last 10 days to get tested for Coronavirus.

Not only him, but his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan is also Coronavirus positive with mild symptoms and has been taken to hospital. In a tweet, the actor said him and his father (Amitabh Bachchan) are complying with all the norms as directed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He too urged people not to panic and maintain calm in such situations.

PTI quoted a civic official as saying that the BMC has declared four bungalows of the Bachchan family – Jalsa, Pratiksha, Janak and Vatsa – in Mumbai as containment zones and sealed them. Civic employees sanitised the bungalows on Sunday, the official said. Around 30 workers in these places were also screened for the coronavirus on Sunday, the report added. A BMC team went to the bungalows for sanitising them and also for contact tracing, an official told PTI.

As soon as the news of his admission to hospital has come out, some people gathered around the hospital as well as his Juhu residence. Mumbai Police has tightened security around Nanavati hospital and his two bungalows. Police have asked all people to leave as they stand on roads, PTI reported.

For four months now, Amitabh Bachchan has been informing people about the Coronavirus pandemic and all the measures one should take to prevent and curb Coronavirus transmission. With the help of many videos, poems, he motivated people to fight the viral infection rather than being scared from it.

Meanwhile, many Bollywood personalities also wished well for the father-son duo. Madhuri Dixit, Sonam Kapoor, Tapsee Pannu, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Shahid Kapoor among others have sent their regards on Twitter. While Madhuri Dixit wished for their speedy recovery, Tapsee Pannu said they shall be back to health and happiness soon.

“Get well soon Amit uncle. All my love and prayers,” said Sonam Kapoor. Apart from her, Nimrat Kaur, Pankaj Tripathi and Rajkumar Rao along with director Sudhir Mishra, and Hansal Mehta too prayed for their speedy recovery.
