Mysuru: After
University Grants Commission (
UGC) released new guidelines to conduct final
semester exams, the
University of Mysore (UoM) is gearing up to conduct the sixth semester exam for undergraduate courses and final semester exam for post graduate courses by the end of September.
Registrar Prof R Shivappa told TOI UoM had prepared a list of tentative dates to conduct the exams simultaneously from September 2 to 27 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
UoM is waiting for the state government’s nod as it must take a call on conducting the exam in all universities after going through UGC’s directions. “Once the state government gives a green signal, UoM will announce the timetable for the exams,” he said.
Bridge classes will be held for 15 days before the examination as per a decision taken by the UoM academic council meeting held recently under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Prof G Hemantha Kumar. UoM has prepared to conduct the exams by adhering to all SOPs and social distancing measures issued by UGC and the state government, he said.
Conducting all final year exams is mandatory as per the academic calendar for universities. Over 1.2 lakh students are studying in various PG, UG and PhD programmes at UoM.
