Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently admitted to Nanavati hospital with son Abhishek Bachchan (both in isolation).
The actor took to microblogging website Twitter on Saturday to confirm the news and urged people who have been in close proximity with him to get themselves tested. "I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !" read his tweet.
Abhishek had tweeted, "Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you. The BMC has been in touch and we are complying with them."
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan were also tested. Aishwarya and Aaradhya have tested positive and are also admitted to Nanavati hospital. Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda and Adgasthya Nanda have tested negative for COVID-19.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan have tested positive for coronavirus, confirms Assistant Commissioner Vishwas Mote. Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agasthya Nanda, on the other hand, have tested negative.
Amitabh Bachchan in good health, confirms Mumbai Mayor Kishori. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan test negative and will be in isolation, added the mayor, also stating that Jalsa is in containment zone and nobody will be allowed to enter or exit from there.
Amitabh Bachchan will post medical bulletins twice in a day on his social media accounts to keep fans and followers updated on his health.
Mumbai police will ensure that no crowd gathers around either Nanavati hospital or Amtiabh's home Jalsa in Juhu. Only media personalities would be allowed.
