The BMC on Sunday sanitised and sealed all four bungalows of the Bachchan family – Jalsa, Janak, Pratiksha and Vatsa – and declared them as containment zones. All staffers in the four bungalows underwent thermal screening. Thirty were identified as high-risk contacts and their samples collected for tests.

“There is sufficient space available at Jalsa for the staff to be in quarantine for 14 days. However, a quarantine facility can be set up for the family and the staff, if the need arises or if the same is requested by the family,” said an BMC official.

Actor Amit Sadh, who has worked with Abhishek Bachchan on their web series Breathe Into The Shadows, tweeted that he will get tested done on Sunday. He had recently met Abhishek, as they dubbed for their show. He tweeted, “HI All! Thanks all for your concern and wishes. I am feeling perfectly fine, However, I will get a precautionary Covid 19 test done today. My thoughts and prayers with Mr Bachchan, Abhishek and family. Hoping for their speedy recovery.”

Amitabh Bachchan (77) had tweeted on Saturday that he has tested positive and appealed to those who were in close proximity to him in the last 10 days to get themselves tested.

It was followed by Abhishek’s (44) tweet: “My father and I remain in hospital till the doctors decide otherwise. Everyone please remain cautious and safe. Please follow all rules!”

In a second tweet, he said: “Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful. The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers.”

Kher tweeted, “This is to inform all that my mother Dulari is found Covid + (Mildly). We have admitted her into Kokilaben Hospital. My brother, bhabhi (sister-in-law) and niece in spite of being careful have also tested mildly positive. I got myself tested as well & I have tested negative. BMC is informed.”
