3 Lashkar terrorists killed in Sopore encounter

SRINAGAR: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including one Pakistani indentified as Usman Bhai, were killed in an encounter with security forces at Reban village of Sopore tehsil in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
On specific information about the presence of terrorists there, a joint team of Army, J&K Police and CRPF cordoned off the village. “As the forces intensified searches, the hiding terrorists opened fire, resulting in a gunfight and subsequent killing of the three terrorists,” said Vijay Kumar, IGP, Kashmir range.
He said Usman Bhai had carried out an attack in Model Town area of Sopore on July 1, in which a CRPF trooper and a civilian were killed. The other two dead terrorists are yet to be identified.
“Pakistani LeT (terrorist) Usman killed in encounter. He was involved in recent attack at Sopore in which one CRPF jawan and one civilian were killed. Big success for Police & SFs: IGP Kashmir,” police said in a tweet.
Usman was one among a dozen most wanted terrorists in J&K.
