2021 BMW M3 And M4 Display Their Tail-Happy Skills During Track Testing

BMW continues testing of the all-new M3 and M4 at the Nurburgring, ahead of their September premiere.

We know what you might think – “not another spy video”, yet this one shows both cars kicking their tails out, as they can be seen leaving skid marks all over the German track.

The prototypes snapped in motion hid their huge grilles behind the thick camo, which also kept other design details covered, such as the bulging fenders, bigger bumpers and boot lid spoiler, as well as the diffuser that incorporates the quad exhaust pipes.

As BMW’s M Division has already confirmed, the 2021 M3 and M4 will pack a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six, rated at 473 HP (480 PS / 353 kW) in the base versions, which will arrive with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. The Competition specs will also be available with rear-wheel drive and will boast 503 HP (510 PS / 375 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm).

While these models will score huge points with internet warriors, those who would rather have an all-wheel drive system, similar to the larger M5, will have to wait a bit for the M-tuned xDrive to launch for the M3 Competition and M4 Competition. Other highlights will include the M-tuned suspension setup and upgraded brakes, which will turn the cars into proper track weapons.
