Gurugram: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has directed shop owners in Sadar Bazar to ensure that they don’t encroach on the streets. The civic body has also asked hawkers not to put up their carts outside their shops.
The municipal corporation will record a video of the marketplace within two days and action will be taken against the shops violating the norms. Officials said that such shops would be sealed.
Joint commissioner Gaurav Antil said that MCG commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh had directed officials to make Sadar Bazar encroachment-free. “Earlier also we had sealed shops which were found to be encroaching upon the streets. We are going to capture a video of the entire market once again and if we found any shops giving space to the hawkers in front of their shops they will be sealed again,” Antil added.
Sadar Bazar is one of the oldest markets of the city and has always remained congested. With hawkers and shop owners encroaching upon the streets regularly, the area becomes more packed, leaving very little space for the customers to move around the market.
