Pune: As many as 27,931 COVID-19 positive patients have recovered and discharged in Pune division but the number of COVID-19 infected patients in the division has increased to 45,897.

Currently, the number of active COVID cases stands at 16,483 and the total number of deaths recorded stands at 1,483.

The Pune division comprises of total five districts including, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur.

Compared to Saturday, the number of infected patients in Pune division has increased by a total 1,822. With a total amounting to 1509 cases in Pune district, 153 are from Satara district, 109 from Solapur district, 16 in Sangli district and 35 in Kolhapur district.

A total number of 731 patients are critical and the rest are under observation. Currently, the recovery rate in Pune division is 60.86 per cent and the death rate is 3.23 per cent, said Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar on Sunday.

According to the numbers recorded on Sunday, "Out of these, 38 thousand 473 infected patients from Pune district and 23 thousand 591 infected patients from Corona have recovered and gone home. The number of active patients is 13,832. These include 10,030 patients from Pune Municipal Corporation area, 2,820 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area and 83 from Pune Cantonment, 50 from Khadki Division, 777 from the rural area and 72 from District."

Talking about the COVID-19 related death in the division, he said, "A total of 1,050 coronavirus patients have died in Pune district. This includes 832 patients from Pune Municipal Corporation, 113 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and 24 from Pune Cantonment, 15 from Khadki Division, 45 from rural areas and 21 from District. Also, 558 patients are critical and the rest are under observation. The recovery rate in Pune district is 61.32 per cent. The death toll is 2.73 per cent."

In Satara district, there are 1,696 COVID-19 infected patients and 1,010 infected patients have recovered. The number of active patients stands at 62 and 65 coronavirus related deaths have been recorded. 

There are 3,930 corona infected patients in Solapur district and 2,193 infected patients have been discharged. The number of active patients is 1,409. A total of 328 patients infected with corona have died.

In Sangli district, 624 patients are infected with corona and 302 infected patients have been recovered. The number of active patients is 306. A total of 16 deaths have been recorded.

In Kolhapur district, 1,174 corona infected patients and 835 infected patients have been discharged. The number of active patients is 315. A total of 24 deaths have been recorded.

Till date, a total of 2,39,852 samples were collected for testing out of which 2,34,207 results have been declared. 

A report of 5,645 samples is awaited. Out of the reports received, 1,87,860 samples were reported negative and 45,897 samples were reported positive.
