Will You Bite For This 24k Mile Sharknose 1988 BMW M6 At $50k?

BMW has had its ups and downs when it comes to vehicle design with hits like the E30 3-Series and misses like the E65 7-Series. This E24 M4 ‘Sharknose’ is one of its finest hits.

The first-generation BMW M6, also marketed as the M635CSi in most countries, was built between 1983 and 1989 and looks absolutely gorgeous to this day. This particular 1988 example is up for sale courtesy of Auto Source Group with a Buy It Now price of $49,490. We think it is worth every dollar.

The eBay listing reveals that the car is in stock condition with no modifications or changes from the factory. Consequently, it continues to rock the original BBS cross-spoke wheels and its Zinnoberot Red paint has been resprayed and restored.

Powering the car is a 3.5-liter S38B35 inline-six that produces 256 hp and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) of torque. Coupled to the engine is a 5-speed Getrag 280 manual transmission that drives the rear wheels and helps the car accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in roughly 6.8 seconds in North American specification. It is reported that just 1,677 examples were sold on the continent, also making it quite rare.

Found inside is grey leather across the seats, door panels, and the lower portion of the dashboard. While there is some minor wear on the driver’s seat bolster, the rest of the cabin has been very well maintained. The car has just 24,000 miles (38,624 km) on the clock.
