Bike Bot: Bhati’s bail plea rejected

Noida: The district court in Surajpur rejected the bail plea of Bike Bot scam main accused Sanjay Bhati in as many as 27 cases on Thursday. The court had rejected Bhati’s bail plea in 10 cases last week.
Bhati, already in jail for allegedly duping 2.4 lakh investors on the pretext of promising them lucrative returns, had, in fact, applied for bail in as many as 56 cases, in which a charge-sheet has already been filed against him by Noida police.
Dismissing his bail plea in 27 cases, judge Indrapreet Singh Josh said that given the gravity of the facts, situations, nature of crime and without commenting on the merits of the case, the court “does not find grounds for his release”.
In his bail plea, Bhati had claimed that Garvit Innovative Promoters Private Limited was formed by him on July 20, 2017, which used to buy and sell apartments in real estate, after his wife Deepti and brother Sachin were made directors.
“Bike Bot scheme is running since July 2017. On November 18, 2018, I resigned from the post since I got a ticket for 2019 general elections from the BSP, and handed over the responsibility of the company to Rajesh and Karanpal. Since then, I have no connection with the company,” Bhati said in his plea.
He also claimed that due to unforeseen losses, the company could not pass on the benefits of the business to the complainants and others.
The bail plea was opposed by the assistant government counsel.
