MUMBAI: A fire erupted at Indraprastha shopping centre in Borivali West at 3.05am on Saturday.
Around 14 fire engines, 13 jumbo water tankers, a fire robot were immediately deployed at the site.
The shopping centre has a basement and is a ground plus two-storey building. The blaze was initially confined to the basement but later extended to the ground and the first floor.
"Fire teams tried to ensure there’s adequate ventilation at the site by removing the side grills of the basement,” said chief fire officer PS Rahangdale.
The firemen used exhaust blowers for extraction of the smoke. There are no reports of any injuries so far.
