Delhi govt cancels all state university exams, including final year due to prevailing COVID-19 situation
Manish Sisodia today announced that all state universities will not conduct any exams for intermediate and final year students.

NEW DELHI: Stating that conducting exams in the current pandemic period would be unjust for students, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia today announced that all state universities will not conduct any exams for intermediate and final year students.
Sisodia said on Saturday that “the government believes that since there was no study done for this semester, there should not be any exams. We believe what CM Arvind Kejriwal said that in these extraordinary times we need to take extraordinary decisions in these times.”
The deputy CM said that the government has asked the State varsities to evaluate students on the basis of past exams or past semester records or find other methods. “Evaluate intermediate students and promote them on to the next semester, and evaluate the final year students and provide them degrees. It is necessary to give degree to final year students as they have been working hard for years need their degrees to apply for job. Some of them may have already got jobs and need to start working to support families.”
Sisodia said that this move will give relief to lakhs of students who couldn’t study due to pandemic.
He also informed that CM Kejriwal has written to Prime Minster Narendra Modi asking central government to take the same decision that Delhi government has taken. “We hope that the PM would respond to our requests.”
