BSEH 10th Results: 10% improvement in Class X results in Ambala, but state ranking still at 20th

AMBALA: Ambala district has improved its Class X result by 10% as compared to the last year recorded the data after the result declaration by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) on Friday.
Overall a total of 58.90% students passed Class X this year in 2019-20 session in Ambala district, which is about 10% improvement as compared to the results of 2018-19 as the district had recorded 48.58% pass percentage. However, the overall ranking of Ambala among 22 districts of Haryana is 20, which is third from the bottom.
Last year too, Ambala was placed at 20th positive among 22 districts of the state. As per the information, last year Ambala was above Yamunanagar and Faridabad districts but this year it is above Nuh and Rohtak. Faridabad has improved its ranking and is placed on 19th rank.
As per the data provided by the district education department, a total of 12,185 students appeared in Class X examination of BSEH, out of which; 7,177 passed, 4,036 students failed while 972 have received compartments.
In another interesting fact, after a period of six years, Ambala has crossed above 50% pass percentage in Class X results of the Haryana board.

Notably, in the last three years, this year the least a number of students i.e. 12,185 appeared in Class X in Ambala.
A student Pushpinder of Government Senior Secondary School of Majri village scored 491 marks out of 500 and obtained 98.2% in Class X and he is the topper of Ambala district in Haryana board examination told the officials of the education department.
Ambala deputy district education officer Sudhir Kalra said, “The result of Ambala district has increased by about 10% as compared to the last year. Among the top three students, two positions including first and third have been achieved by the government school students while the second the position is of a private school student.”
The education officials said that they are still compiling separate data on the results of government schools.
