Security forces have piled up six militants who have entered Arunachal Pradesh to carry out a major attack. Large quantities of weapons have been recovered from the slain militants. A jawan, who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment, has also been injured in this campaign conducted by the Assam Rifles.
According to the information, Assam Rifles had received intelligence that some militants of the 'National Socialist Council of Nagaland' (NSCN-IM) are hiding in Khonsa in the General area. Based on this information, a team of Assam Rifles was prepared and a search operation was launched in the area.
The Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police together conducted a search operation in the morning at Engine village in Longding district. Meanwhile, there was an encounter between the team and the NSCN-IM militants.
Six militants were killed in this encounter, while an Assam Rifles soldier was also injured in this encounter. The encounter took place at around 4.30 am. Six weapons and other war-like material have been recovered from the encounter site.
Arunachal Pradesh DGP has stated that four AK-47 rifles and two Chinese MQs have been recovered from the spot after the encounter. Currently, the search operation is on.
