KALYAN: In the wake of the
Covid-19 outbreak in
Kalyan-Dombivli area, Maharashtra tourism minister
Aditya Thackeray on Saturday visited the area to took stock of the situation.
The twin cities have been badly affected by the growing number of Covid-19 cases . The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal body on Friday announced extension of the lockdown from 12th to 19th July. Earlier lockdown was imposed starting 2nd July to 12th July.
Opposition leader
Devendra Fadnavis had also visited the different MMR regions including Kalyan-Dombivali areas and had attacked the ruling government over lack of healthcare facilities in the cities.
Aditya Thackeray when asked about Devendra Fadnavis' remarks said that he had been doing 'Disaster Tourism' in the crucial time when a Pandemic was going on. Thackeray even said that Fadnavis is attacking the government just because he is the opposition leader and that too for no reason.
He said if there was constructive criticism from the opposition we would welcome that.
A meeting was held at Wadhwa Sports Club in Kalyan West on Saturday in the presence of Aditya Thackeray and Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde.
During meeting he said “Chase the Virus' campaign will be intensified in the Kalyan-Dombivli area on the lines of Dharavi to curb the growing number of Covid 19 patients.
