BANDIPORA:
Jammu and Kashmir police claimed on Thursday that two
Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives including a local militant Abid and his associate from Pakistan had carried out the killings of three BJP members from the same family in
Bandipora of northern Kashmir a day earlier.
The killings triggered a wave of panic among the workers of the BJP and other parties including panchayat members, many of whom complained of inadequate security arrangements. Inspector general of J&K Police, Vijay Kumar, who visited the spot around 10 am on Thursday and examined the scene of shooting and
CCTV footage of the incident, said the killings were pre-planned and executed after a detailed observation of the movements of the local BJP leader Sheikh Wazeem Bari.
