Vikas Dubey encounter reactions LIVE: Justice only thing killed in UP CM's 'encounter raj', says TMC

Gangster Vikas Dubey, who was arrested from outside the Mahakal temple in Ujjain on Thursday, has been killed in an encounter. As the news of Vikas Dubey's encounter broke out, politicians and leaders from across the country took to Twitter to react.

Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the ambush and the killing of eight police personnel in Kanpur last week, has been killed. Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter when the gangster tried to escape, taking advantage of an accident with the convoy of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF).

Inspector-General of Police (Kanpur) Mohit Agarwal said Dubey was killed in the encounter after he tried to flee from the spot following the road accident at Barra area in Kanpur.

SP Kanpur West, while speaking to a news agency ANI, said, "Gangster Vikas Dubey attempted to flee after the car overturned. Police tried to make him surrender, during which he fired at the policemen. He was injured in retaliatory firing by police. He was later rushed to the hospital." Vikas Dubey Encounter Live Updates

Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav on Friday raised questions on gangster Vikas Dubey's encounter killing after an accident, saying the car did not topple but it was an effort to save the government from toppling if facts came to light.
