Bangalore Karnataka corona cases latest news, updates: In an alarming sign, coronavirus infections rose 24 times in 30 days in Bengaluru. The Karnataka reported just about six new cases per day in May and by the end of May, the city had 291 cases. However, daily cases 1,000-1,100 per day and the total is up 24 times in the last month. Bengaluru’s positivity rate was 4.1 on May 28 but as on July 9 stood at 35.9 on July 9.
Karnataka has recorded 2228 new coronavirus cases and 17 COVID-19 related deaths. With this total positive coronavirus cases in the state are 31,105. The COVID-19 death toll in the state is 486. So far, 457 COVID19 positive patients are admitted to ICU. In Karnataka, a total of 77,9209 samples have been tested so far and 20,028 in the last 24 hours which is the highest. Bengaluru has witnessed 1,373 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Total coronavirus cases in Karnataka capital city now stands at 13,882.
Meanwhile, the state government has allowed private hospitals to set up COVID Care Center in collaboration with hotels or staying facilities to treat COVID19 patients with mild symptoms or who are asymptomatic. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has fixed a cap on COVID19 treatment at hotels. For treatment in budget hotels, you need to pay Rs 8,000, for a three-star facility hospital, you need to pay Rs 10,000 and for treatment at five-star facilities, you need to pay Rs 12,000.
Karnataka is one of the eight states which have contributed to 90 per cent of the active Coronavirus cases in India, as per a report submitted to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on COVID-19.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has decided that his government would appoint ministers as in-charge for each zone in Bengaluru after coronavirus cases rose in the capital city. The decision was taken after a cabinet meeting chaired by the CM himself for better management of the COVID19 pandemic situation in Karnataka capital. The state government has decided to increase beds at taluk and district level COVID19 hospitals, high flow oxygen devices, and the number of tests and give the results as quickly as possible. However, there was no discussion regarding any lockdown in the state or in Bengaluru, as per reports.
Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu has said that there are 72 labs where coronavirus tests are conducted. These labs are under pressure with an increased number of COVID19 tests. “When lab technicians are quarantined, it gets difficult to complete work. So we’re considering increasing the number of labs and technicians,” the Health Minister said.
Kalasipalya police station in Bengaluru reported one death and 26 positive cases in one month. Today, Bengaluru City Police (BCP) Commissioner Bhaskar Rao visited Kalasipalya police station. The police station was sealed for 11 days from June 19 to 29.
Karnataka has recorded the highest COVID19 reproduction rate among states in India. The coronavirus transmission rate (R) denotes the number of individuals getting infected by the Coronavirus patient. In India, the highest R numbers are recorded from Karnataka (1.66), Telangana (1.65), and Andhra Pradesh (1.32).
