Ever since the government banned TikTok, along with 58 other Chinese apps, desi Indians apps have been making a beeline to garner user attention. While many of these apps had been around for a while, they have been looking to up the ante and fill the 'void' left by TikTok. Here we tell you 10

Roposo is another Desi TikTok rival. The app supports Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam, Odia and Assamese languages. Gaana's platform HotShots allows users to create and share short videos and stories with its audience base of more than 150 million. The new service will be available through a section on the app. Gaana is owned by Times Internet, the parent company of Gadgets Now.
MX Players' TakaTak is another home-grown TikTok rival. According to app’s description, "MX TakaTak offers you real and fun videos that you can watch and share on social media. Browse all types of videos, ranging from Dialogue Dubbing, Comedy, Gaming, DIY, Food, Sports, Memes, and many more." MX Player is owned by Times Internet, the parent company of Gadgets Now.
Indian app Trell is another TikTok alternative. The app claims to be users "one-stop destination for discovering daily experiences, DIY, Recipes, Travel, Fashion, Beauty, Sexual wellness, Men’s grooming and so much more in the easy video format." The app is available in multiple languages.
This is another made-in-India TikTok rival. "Meet a chance to meet tens of millions of talented artists from around the world on Moj app, but also get to make friends with young people from your city or near you," says the description of the short video app from ShareChat.
Bolo Indya is an Indian video app. Users can create and share short videos in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi and Odia. "Users can create videos, watch videos, discover services and avail them in your local language on the app itself by the fellow Indians whom you trust on the platform for their services, experience, opinions and knowledge," as per the app's description.
Rizzle claims to be "100% made in India" app. "Rizzle is a 60-second video app for collabs and interactions. India’s favorite short video app to express their voices and opinions on a global platform... It is the easiest way to collab and create videos with friends. Talk about anything with people from all over the world. Start a mini-series or a talk show and more," says the app's description on Play Store.
This is another Indian rival of TikTok app for Android users. As per the app's description, LitLot app has all the features to create awesome short videos with beauty, filters and music.
