Anil VijCHANDIGARH: Haryana Home and Health minister, Anil Vij said on Friday that sports goods worth Rs. 1.28 crore have been ordered from Germany for gymnastics players at the War Heroes Memorial Stadium in Ambala.
The players will not only improve their sports talent, but will also be able to establish new records for the country by showcasing their talent at the state level as well as at the national and international levels with the help of these sporting goods, he added.
He said that apart from sports equipment, six gymnastics equipments for boys and four gymnastics equipments for girls as well as rhythmic gymnastics equipment for girls, as well as the arena floor, 10 apparatus for artistic gymnastics and Tumbling Track Tools are also included.
He said that the renovation work of the War Heroes Stadium of Ambala Cantonment is in progress so that the players can get the best facility here. He said that the players are feeling encouraged after getting the Olympic Games level equipments. The gymnastics hall of the War Heroes Memorial Stadium is now equipped with international level equipment.
He said that these equipments will be installed within two days, and all other preparations have been made. Now the players will be able to get better training with the newly installed equipment and will be able to progress further in the world of sports, he added. He said that the players will be encouraged to perform better in the future as these equipments are also used in the Olympic Games
War Heroes Memorial Stadium in Ambala is the only Gymnastics Sports Stadium in Haryana where such equipments have reached. The gymnastics hall is being renovated to make it air-conditioned and an amount of over Rs 7.50 crore has been spent on this work, he added.
