Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that India has emerged as the most attractive global market in the field of clean energy.

Inaugurating a 75 MW solar energy project in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh through video conference, Modi said that the state will emerge as a center of clean and affordable energy in the country.

He said, "Solar energy is reliable, pure and safe and the country now ranks among the top five solar energy producing countries in the world."

Modi said that the Rewa Solar Energy Plant will provide electricity not only to Madhya Pradesh but also to Delhi Metro. The Rewa project has three solar generating units of 25–25 MW each and are installed on a land of 500 hectares inside the solar park.

The solar park was developed by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL). RUMSL is a joint venture company of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and Solar Energy Corporation of India.
