NIOS cancels board exams 2020, result to be annoucned soon

NEW DELHI: National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) on Friday cancelled its Board Examination 2020.

Informing candidates about the cancellation of the examination, the Ministry of HRD tweeted, "Keeping in view the health of the learners, #NIOS public #exams scheduled to be held in July 2020 now stand cancelled. The results will be declared based on the assessment scheme finalized by the competent committee of @niostwit."

Learners will have an option to appear in the next Public/On-Demand Exam to improve their performance, as and when the situation is conducive to hold the exams, the ministry added. The marks obtained by the learner in such examination will however be taken as final for such of those learners opting to appear in the said examination.

The results will be accordingly compiled and declared soon to enable the vertical mobility of learners, based thereon, the NIOS said.



For all learners of Secondary and Senior Secondary, who have past performance (i.e. passed) in four subjects, the average of marks obtained in the best three performed subjects will be awarded as theory performance in the subjects for which the learner was registered to appear in the examination which could not be held in March-April 2020.


The Class 10, 12 examinations that were scheduled to be conducted in July has been cancelled by the Ministry of HRD. The results will be announced on the basis of the assessment scheme that has been finalized by the component committee.
